need CONFIG_SCSI_MULTI_LUN, can be found at:
device drivers -> scsi device support -> probe all LUNs on each SCSI device

have been using the Deadline scheduler for so long because of the kernel info touting it as “almost as good as Anticipatory”. now seems it’s the culprit of firefox3 being so slow (as in everything–address bar completion, mouse gesture, etc)
